Ronawk Raises $1.5M in Series Seed Round of Fundraising & Brings On New Member to Board of Directors

Olathe, KS – Ronawk, a new biotech and biofabrication company powered by the Bio-Block Universe™ platform, today announced they have closed a Series Seed round of fundraising for $1.5 million dollars. The funding aligns with the company’s growth and will be used to expand the bandwidth of the organization. The round of funding comes from investors from Kansas City, Wichita, and Austin, TX.

Paul K. Morris joins Ronawk’s Board of Directors

Additionally, the organization is excited to announce that Mr. Paul K. Morris has joined Ronawk’s Board of Directors as its fourth member. Mr. Morris currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Solea Energy, LLC, a venture-backed company based in Overland Park, KS that trades financial instruments in U.S. wholesale electricity markets.

Most recently, Mr. Morris served as President & COO of Bardavon Health Innovations, a venture-backed company that is transforming the delivery of healthcare to employees of major US corporations nationally. In his six-year stint, Bardavon grew from five to two-hundred-fifty employees, saw its provider population grow to over 10,000 therapists nationally, and raised $120M of venture financing. Mr. Morris continues to serve on the Bardavon Board of Directors and remains a senior advisor to the Company.

Mr. Morris has successfully grown and sold multiple companies and serves on multiple Boards to help provide guidance and governance to organizations as they grow.

The Board at Ronawk is now made up of four Directors, which include Dr. A.J. Mellott (CEO & Co-Founder), Ms. Heather Decker (CTO and Co-Founder), and Mr. Tom Jantsch (President & COO) from the Ronawk management team.

Last year the company raised its visibility by being nominated for and winning many awards including the State of Kansas Dept. of Commerce award, the Coolest Innovation in Kansas award, and the Pipeline Innovator of the Year award for the 2020 Class.
